What is an Inventory Analyst?
The Inventory Analyst is primarily accountable for inputting daily transactions and maintaining control of inventory data derived from shop packets, receiving move tickets, shipping picklists and manually created transaction tickets. This position works closely with inventory control, floor supervisors and assists in the investigation and correction of inventory discrepancies and ensures security and accountability of inventory through organization of physical inventory, transaction documentations, process and procedures. The hours for this position are 7am-3:30pm.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in tracking high levels of inventory. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with demonstrated problem solving, written and oral communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Record data against what is stated in the business system (MAPICS) to ensure inventory control.
2. Review paperwork and investigate as needed for discrepancies to determine cause.
3. Record data from weekly cycle counting and provide support for cycle counting and reconciling discrepancies.
4. Review incorrect pick discrepancies reported in MAPICS from the Paperless MES system inputted by assembly lines and assist to determine cause.
5. Record and maintain data within the RMA database as required.
6. Assist the IT department running and reviewing daily business reports to check for potential errors.
7. Assist IT department with Daily operational functions and Month end functions per documented procedures.
8. Document and assist in developing processes for continuous improvement within the department.
9. Effectively lift, move and use materials handling equipment when necessary (such as: lift trucks, tow motors, cranes, high lifts, etc.).
10. Perform miscellaneous clerical/administrative duties.
11. Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.
12. Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.
13. Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
14. Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
15. Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
16. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Education
• High school diploma or equivalent. • Previous experience in tracking high levels of inventory required. • Proficient in Microsoft Office required. • Intermediate level of computer skills, systems and processes. • Demonstrated problem solving, written and oral communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities. • Good understanding of business mathematical concepts. • Ability to be self-directed and handle routine tasks independently. • Understanding of shop/warehouse layouts preferred. • Experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred. • Knowledge of ERP concepts preferably MAPICS. • Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.
Physical and Technical Environment
• Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques or other available resources such as lifting or moving equipment or help from another employee. • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment • Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator • Normal vision and manual dexterity for office duties • Clean and orderly manufacturing environment, normal office conditions, changing deadlines and project requirements, strict time constraints.
