What is an Accounting Coordinator?
The Accounting Coordinator provides day-to-day support to the CFO and Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department. Provides support to the Sr. Accountant, Collections, AP and Staff Accountant as needed. Responsibilities span between single and multi-company functions. This position will report to the Controller.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have an associate’s degree with at least two years experience in accounting, finance or specifically related discipline.

• Associates degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance or specifically related discipline. • Two years related, applicable experience. • Ability to utilize spreadsheets and analytical techniques. • Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Review, correct, update and post accounts payable invoices in preparation of weekly check processing.
- Match accounts payable invoices received against purchase orders/requisitions.
- Process debit memos and ensure entry into the accounts payable system.
- Process manual vouchers and ensure entry into the accounts payable system.
- Process a large volume of data entry to meet deadlines.
- Correct purchase orders, as necessary, for posting purposes.
- Research and process vendor credits due to the company.
- Filing of all processed vendor invoices.
- Maintain corporate credit card invoices and receipts. Code expenditures for general ledger entry.
- Acting as a back-up for sales invoicing, as necessary. Responsible for processing orders/pick lists with proper freight/billing information. Verify all freight signed bills of lading provided by the shipping department. Obtain freight charges from outside vendors. Review all pick lists keyed into operating system (Infor) to process as invoices. Sort printed invoices for taxes, costing, credit cards, mailing and emailing.
- Acting as the back-up for applying cash receipts to the accounts receivable ledger.
- Acting as a back-up to the weekly check processing function.
- Ensure paperwork is received to process invoices on a timely basis.
- Perform special projects as required by management.
- Assist other personnel in resolution of problems requiring special attention.
- Run reports as necessary for month end processing.
- Update Accounting policies and procedures as needed.
- Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers, and peers effectively.
- Comply with policies, procedures, standards, and rules of the Company.
- Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
- Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Physical and Technical Environment
- Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally. • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment. • Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator. • Normal office environment, changing deadlines, project assignments, very strict and continuous time constraints. • Successful completion of a credit report.
