What is a Quality Engineer?
The Quality Engineer assists the Manager, Quality Assurance with meeting Department goals and objectives, including the management of the ISO Quality system through the writing and editing of the Manual, Procedures and Work Instructions. Managing and performing Internal Audits, documenting and managing the non-conformance, corrective and preventative action programs.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 5 years of experience with implementation and management of an ISO 9001 registered Quality system
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Create, implement and revise Quality procedures and support the review and approval of Work Instructions.
2. Utilize the INFORXA system in support of complaint analysis from Customers (Internal and External).
3. Properly document results of inspections, audits and monitoring activities.
4. Perform and manage Internal Audits.
5. Utilize all types of precision measuring instruments and special inspection equipment to inspect first piece, in-process and final manufactured parts according to drawing specifications. 6. Actively promote production, quality and safety standards.
7. Respond to quality issues that arise during the course of the day, as directed by supervisor.
8. Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.
9. Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.
10. Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
11. Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
12. Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
13. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 5 years of experience with implementation and management of an ISO 9001 registered Quality system required.
- Internal/external auditing experience qualified per ASQ QE19011S preferred.
- Familiarity with INFORXA preferred.
- Able to work with inspection, measuring and test equipment/instruments preferred.
- Able to work from customer drawings/specifications, mil-specifications, blueprints, sketches, work order routing forms, shipping papers, history file inspection data, acceptance/rejection forms and verbal/written instructions from supervisor.
- Basic geometric dimension and tolerance experience.
- Proficient in MS Office products.
- Clean and orderly manufacturing environment, normal office conditions, changing deadlines and project requirements, strict time constraints.
- Ability to take direction and perform work tasks with minimal supervision.
- Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English
Physical and Technical Environment
- Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Regularly required to walk or stand, bend or twist, climb, reach with hands or arms.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth, and color perception, and the ability to pass a Jaegar Visual Acuity exam.
- Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator.
